I love Pinterest. Almost every day I find lots of interesting examples of handmade jewelry there. The other day I noticed that so many of my favorites were by the same artist, Kathy of Bear Run Originals.
I find Kathy’s work to be a great example of how skillful craftsmanship can elevate a piece. Her simple settings, usually copper and monochromatic bead selections, leave no room to hide. Every coil, every wire end, every angle has to be perfect. And it is.
Her pieces allow us to appreciate the beauty of the coil, and the beauty of the beads, put on display in tasteful jewelry pieces that can be worn every day to provide a splash of color and a touch of style. There is much more to see in her wonderful shop.
I’m pleased to present the Twirl Earrings tutorial. These earrings are joyful, kinetic, and versatile. They require common jewelry making tools and very few materials, just 20 gauge wire and a pair of ear wires. With the holidays approaching, you may find use for them as abstract Christmas trees.
Angry Hair Jewelry is filled with gleaming gemstones in brilliant color combinations. Lisa, the artist, keeps these magnificent stones in the spotlight by placing them in simple but meticulously crafted settings.
