Rhodonite is pretty pink with a dark side, a sweetheart rose veiled in smoke.
Jewelree by Sheree Semonich is a unique line of handmade jewelry built around guitar strings adorned with colorful bead mixes. Sheree wraps guitar strings into bangles and embellishes them with gemstones and glass to create celebratory pieces inspired by her love of music. Better still, the guitar strings are reclaimed – they have literally been used to create music before being incorporated into these beautiful jewelry pieces. What’s more, musicians will appreciate that these bangles will not produce clanging sounds when they bang together.
Apart from their embodiment of musical energy, the jumble of sizes, shapes, textures, and colors lends intrigue to these bangles.
I have just come across a web site with a lot of very good wire wrapped jewelry tutorials. The site is called Kreative Vagyok, which means “I am creative” in Hungarian. I know that because of Google translate. It is a tool that can make you sound smart sometimes. However, even with the help of Google Translate, I was not able to find the name of the tutorial author(s), so unfortunately I will have to link without naming names. There are many more wire wrapped jewelry tutorials on the site. Those shown below are just a few of my favorites.
These are real beauties. I’m happy to present the Herringbone Leaf Earrings Tutorial.
The Herringbone Leaf Earrings are made using a variation on the herringbone wrap that allows the wrap to take on a lot of height on top without creating a large shape down below. The result is a pleasing leaf shape, high and pointed on top, wide and curved on the bottom. From this curved bottom, a paddle shaped “stem” emerges, completing the leaf-like appearance.
